Welcome to the seventeenth edition of The Hedge!
In this week’s issue, we share updates on the forum overhaul project, the Discord notifications bot project, upcoming governance discussions about cover products, and more. We start with the forum overhaul project overview, and we're eager to hear your ideas and feedback to transform our forum into a thriving platform where members can discuss all things Nexus Mutual.
Let's get started.
Kickstarting the forum overhaul project
In the last week, BraveNewDeFi has started to add new subcategories and reorganize the Nexus Mutual governance forum as part of the forum overhaul project outlined in the Community team's Q2 priorities.
The most recent updates include:
Adding the Nexus Mutual Protocol Improvement Proposal, Nexus Mutual DAO Proposal, and DAO team funding subcategories within the Governance Discussion category
Adding the Foundation, DAO teams, Tokenomics, Grant Updates, General Questions, and Archived Newsletters subcategories within the Nexus Mutual Updates category
Re-categorizing various forum posts, so they are easier to find
Adding [RFC] to any non-final proposals that have been posted on the forum, so members can easily differentiate between formal proposals and initial discussions
In the next few weeks, BraveNewDeFi will work with other members of the DAO and Foundation teams to add new categories and subcategories. As he proceeds with this project, BraveNewDeFi is interested in hearing feedback from members on how the forum can be improved to make it easier to contribute to and engage in discussions, find certain forum posts, and learn more about the mutual.
The ultimate goal of this project is to revitalize the governance forum, so it serves as a town square for members' discussion–from governance proposals to team updates, we're hoping to transform the forum into the core platform for discussion about the mutual.
If you want to share feedback, you can share your thoughts on the Nexus Mutual forum in the Feedback category or you can comment on Discord.
Discord notifications bot project update
Last week, we shared an update on the Discord notifications bot project, which will allow members to opt-in to receive reminders to renew cover before it expires and request additional capacity for a cover product to ensure they are able to stay protected. In addition, the bot will have public commands, which can be called in the Nexus Mutual Discord. Below is a brief preview of our progress and some of these commands.
/Quote
This command will allow people to get a quote for any cover product directly in Discord.
/Capacity
People will be able to use this command to query available capacity for various cover products. If there isn't any available capacity, the /Request command can be used to request additional capacity.
/CapitalPool
Anyone can use this command to review the capital pool holdings and value in USD.
We're working to add more commands and refine some of the prompts and responses members will see.
We're still targeting a mid-June release for the Nexus Mutual notifications bot. We'll keep members updated on our progress.
Upcoming discussions about cover products
In the next week, BraveNewDeFi will start RFC discussions on the governance forum about Protocol Cover, Custody Cover, and Yield Token Cover.
Over the last year, members have provided feedback on Protocol Cover wording and suggested changes. The Foundation and DAO teams have taken these comments and incorporated them into a review of the current Protocol Cover wording. Next week, BraveNewDeFi will post a proposal to change the current language in the existing Protocol Cover wording.
In addition, two RFC discussions will be posted about the future of Custody Cover and Yield Token Cover. These RFC forum posts will include a breakdown of cover sold, fees earned, and claims paid across these cover products.
During our next community call on Tuesday (23 May), we'll talk about these proposals in more detail.
Look for updates on these proposals in the next issue of The Hedge, on Twitter, and–of course–on the Nexus Mutual governance forum.
Governance forum discussions
The Avantgarde Treasury has proposed a plan to redeploy funds from the Enzyme vault in order to diversify based on track record, geography, and monitoring risk elements. You can find more details here.
Uisce.eth has suggested that Nexus Mutual allocate approximately 10% of the capital pool to stake with Rocket Pool, which is currently the third largest ETH liquid staking token by TVL. More information about this proposal can be found here.
